Pre wired in ceiling speakers

I have a pre wired surround sound in-ceiling speakers (4). In two of the holes I have 4 wires (red, black, white, blue/green) in the other two holes I have 8 wires (same wire colors just duplicates) . I used the black and red wires on all 4. (should I be using white and blue?) I can only get two speakers to work. I've tested the balance and fader on the receiver but I still get nothing out of two. The outlet where all the wires are supposed to join to the receiver, there are only two sets of 4 wires one labled rear, one labled front. ANYBODY know what the I'm talking about??? thanks

Pre wired in ceiling speakers

It appears that the all the wires do not make it to the location to join the receiver. I think the the front and rear speakers wires are daisy chained and not home run.
So the cable path is wire #1 from receiver to 1st speaker, wire #2 from 1st speaker to 2nd speaker.

All you need to do is splice the white and blue together at the first speaker. So the red/black go from amp to speaker #1 and white/blue go from amp (through splice) to speaker #2.

Repeat for other pair.
