Power run to box not being used

I'm currently waiting on my inspector and have a bit of an issue and just wanted to make sure I was doing the right and safe thing.

I have an end-of-run switch box that has power coming in and WAS feeding a light. I took the power coming out off and ran a new 14-3 wire for a 3-way, and then ran 14-3 from the new fixture to a new switch location. I'm all set for the inspector, but I still have the power to that circuit turned off. I was wondering, can I just screw some wire nuts on the hot end, or electrical tape, or whatever, so that I can turn the circuit back on and get the rest of the receptacles on that circuit up and running until my inspector checks off the work and I can put the lighting and switches back in?

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks!!!

Wire nuts should be fine.
