power outage


Need some help with this one. Only have power downstairs to outlets and lights and same lights and outlets on same breaker upstairs are completely dead. Any ideas ir things to check for. Breaker not tripped, .

Loose connection, open up some recept and check before we move on to something else

I checked the outlet where the issue seemed to occur and everything looked good there should I check every outlet.

You could even try tapping on the wall around suspecting outlets, lights, switchs which can sometimes trigger that flicker if it is a loose connection

There was two terminal post on each side of the outlet ,, I touched these wires and. Nothing no power.

Do u mean with a meter theres no power , is the tab broken off in the middle of the hot terminals?

I wiggled every thing around is it possiibley something wrong with breaker does a breaker seperate the house circuits without tripping both

No. If you are sure that part is on and part is off and you are sure they are the SAME CIRCUIT, you have a loose connection somewhere. Look for back stabbed receptacles; often a culprit.

It could be at the breaker only if two wires are landed on it (one may be making connection, one not. VERY UNLIKELY.)

Check all receptacles on that circuit working and not working you will most likely find a broken connection somewhere.
