Pot lights... HELP !!!

Ok ... quick question

I have a living room....12'2"Wx13'6"L....... I have SIX- 50W Par20 pot lights.

How should they be placed around the room... ?? @ one end, I have a entertainment unit I am building in the wall . The other end a couch.
Currently.... we have spaced them 4' apart right now, but they are WAY to close together.
I plan on going 2ft from the out side walls around the parimeter ?

Yes/ no ??

Thanks for any input !!!

How high is the ceiling? Will you be using flood lamps for even distribution or will you be using spot lamps for focused lighting?

8ft ceilings, and they will be used for the main lighting in the room, I have them on a dimmer switch.

The wall between the livingroom and dining room/kitchen has been knocked out to make a 9 ft opening .... Also, we replaced the 4ft window on the outside wall, with a 6 ft window( 6'x4.5' ).
