I have 6 halogen pot lights on a dimmer in my basement, all wired on the same circuit.
One stopped working today and once I replaced it, now all either dimly flicker when I turn the lights on or don't turn on at all.
You may have miswired the new light into the circuit, producing a "series circuit" where current has to flow through two lights in sequence. This causes the affected lights to each get far less than 120 volts.
Tornado victims: Do not rush to rebuild. Take your time and look for and get a good contractor. Or consider selling the property and moving to a home that is ready to live in.
