Possible?

Ok.....so to start out i'm not even sure this is possible.....but here goes.

I'm buying this...

And I was planning on putting it the back corner of the shop way behind everything out of the way....which would make it difficult to access to turn on and off. Ok to make the outlet its going to plug into switched and just use that to turn it on and off....always leaving the switch on it in the on position?

Sure as long as you leave room to service it.

So what exactily is your question ?

Now...any way to do it If I instead got a 220 unit?

Proper 240v receptacle, 240v circuit, and a properly rated DPST switch. Same procedure, different components.

Either way, you would need a HP rated switch.

Mine is controlled by a remote transmitter and receiver.
