I want to get a transfer switch installed for a portable generator. My home has 2 electric meters (and corresponding electric panels). One panel has hot water, heat pump, ventilator, and well pump on it. The second panel has everything else. I want the transfer switch to connect to the well pump from panel 1 and six or so circuits (e.g. fridge, lights, microwave, etc.) from panel 2. Is this possible? My electrician, who is very experienced, didn't know off-hand and is still trying to find out. Thanks.
This is not possible after the meters. You would need two transfer devices, one for each panel.
Sometimes I feel like if I answer any more questions it is like someone trying to climb over a fence to jump off a bridge and me giving them a boost.
