Pool Wiring
I am getting a new pool. The code states that the pool pump wiring has to be a continuos circuit back to a GFCI breaker in the panel box, uninterupted by another outlet. There also has to be a convenience GFCI outlet within 10-20 feet from the pool.
I have a 20 amp GFCI breaker for the pool pump and a 20 amp regular breaker for the conv. outlet. The contractor only ran 12-3 wire from the panel box for both circuits. From what I can gather he has a shared neutral. The wires are hooked up to both of the breakers. There is a junction box and then it goes to the two outlets. Once the wiring was finished the GFCI outlet on the regular breaker works fine but the twist lock outlet throws the breaker when the pool pump is turned on. He tried the twist loxk on the regular breaker and it worked fine. From some research done on this site it doesn't look like it is advisable to run two GFCI circuits and share a neutral. Does he knwo what he is doing or should I get someone else? Thanks |

Have him install a two-pole GFCB as Jwhite suggested. I assume this will be inspected......

Pool Wiring
Could someone tell me if a pressure treated stake that is burried about 2ft in the ground and sticking up about 2ft is sufficient enough to mount an outlet for a pool?
Thanks! Rob:confused: |
