Anyone ever run into this? When my local poco planner came out to inspect my C.T. cabinet she wouldn't release the meter because we didn't put black tape on the black wire A phase (120/208V system.) :huh:

City inspectors give reports. It passed city and the report was passed on to poco. The poco planner has to look at it before releasing the meter. She did her inspection and left me a voicemail stating that she would not release the meter until I tape the black wire black. :wallbash:

So what color tape was on the black wire ?
C was taped blue, B was taped red, A had no tape as it was already black.

Bureaucracy run amok.
Exactly!

If this is true (which is suspect considering the absurdity of this) then this person is completely out of their mind. :laughing:

There is other possibltiy that someone were trained by lineperson and with many POCO lines espcally with UG run even with riser they use black tape to indeifnety the phase so one black tape band mean phase A while phase B use two black tape band and phase C use three band of black tape { can be done with other colour tapes as well }

I have done this once a while if I don't have colour tape with me and it do work pretty well once you figure it out.

So try that trick sometime it do come handy.

Merci,
Marc
