Plug for Whirlpool

I'm installing a 20 amp recepticle for a new whirlpool tub. Is there any reason I can't put the plug facing the tub? I can't fit it on a 2x4 wall facing away from the tub because it will be covered by sheet rock

Yes usually you put the plug under the tub where the motor is located. Just make sure its GFCI

I usually install a dead front GFI on the wall in the bathroom and feed a duplex receptacle under the tub. That way, if it happens to trip, (and it probably will) you won't have to remove the access panel to reset it.

I plan on putting in GFI breaker instead. Does that sound ok?
