PIR Outside lights
Hi Tres
I am not really sure what you are doing here. I think first off it will be important to know what type of electrical system you are working with for any advise. Most of the word runs AC current this would mean you would NOT have and +/- terminals in your junction. Most of the US runs two 110-120 legs and one return (common). This would give the 110/120 volts when connected to ether leg and common. If 220-240 volt were needed for such as a central AC unit it, that would be hooked up across the two live legs for a total of 220-240 volts. By carefully using a voltmeter with the range this can be verified. I believe most of Europe is the same way but they run considerably higher voltages. If you could post a link or a photo it would help me describe what I would do.
