Photographic light question

Hope someone can help as I'm confused....

I bought one of these: (hope links are ok)
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Softbox-La...#ht_4020wt_989

And have one of these inside it:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1906692283...#ht_2770wt_989

The first bulb I tried didn't appear to work so I tried a replacement which worked for a split second then went off.

I thought something must be wrong but I have tried a standard household bulb (60 watt screw fit) in the lamp holder and that works fine and stays on.

Its plugged into a household wall socket - So what could be the problem?

Many thanks,
gb2012

You don't state your location, which is important. I assume the UK?

Photographic light question

I am not too suprised some of the luminiare may have wattage limiter in there so if too high a wattage it will turn off I know they don't read very well with CFL loads but indentscents they work ok.

With that luminaire you posted IIRC they are good up to 100 watts.

Merci,
Marc
