Phone Wiring

Ok, I'm planning on doing some additions to my phone wiring and have a question. The phone lines I have now run mainly upstairs, but I have some easy access to existing jacks from the basement. I know it's not the best scenario, but how does one daisy chain jacks? I'm familiar with wire colors and such, but wasn't sure how you ensure connectivity from one jack to the next.

Any ideas?

If you have the old 4 strand wire cable, (I think the colors are red, green, black and yellow), all you need to do is connect the red and green wires to each terminal on each new jack.

You're extending the line, correct?

no, you should be able to just place them under the screws (behind the washers, actually) of each jack. I would try splicing them. Just strip (the wire ) and attach to the screws.

So you'd have two wires under each screw?
