Pass & seymour legrand surface mount receptacle disassembly


hey guys im trying to replace a pass & seymour 30a 250v receptacle that is surface mounted

unfortunately i removed the four screws but i will not budge. is there an allen wrench in the middle hole that i need to remove? i have no instructions.


also im going to be replacing it with one of these:

so i take it im going to need a steel box to go with it?

Pass & seymour legrand surface mount receptacle disassembly


The center hole between the prong hole is a screw that holds the cover on the backer plate.

Yes you will need a different type of box and trim plate.

Are you running a new circuit for the new receptacle?

Pass & seymour legrand surface mount receptacle disassembly


The one you want to add is a nema 6-15, rated 250v, 15A. You’ll have to use a 2-pole, 15A breaker for it also.
