Outlets wont work

I have a room with 4 outlets a ceiling fan and recessed lights. They appear to be on the same circuit. Only 2 outlets work and the other 2 show power when I use a tester but when I plug something into them they do not work . The lights nor the fan work either.

Neon testers and voltmeters respond to phantom [capacitively coupled] voltages. At least one wire in your Romex is disconnected.

Check to see how much voltage is coming out of the outlets. You have a loose wire in one of the outlets. You have to take them apart to find the problem. I bet the outlets are backstabbed.
