Outlet Wiring Help Needed
I could use a little guidance in changing out an outlet in my home. I'm attaching several photos. The old outlet has two black wires, two white wires and a ground. I would like to swap it out for the new outlet that contains a built-in led light in place of one of the sockets. However, the new outlet only contains a black screw (for the black wire I imagine) a silver screw (for the white wire?) and a green one on top for the ground.
Is this as simple as combining the two black wires from the old and attaching it to the black screw? and likewise for the white one?
Thank you in advance,
Tie the black wires together with a pigtail to the receptacle. Same with the whites.
