outlet sparked


turned off power to outlet cut out damaged drywall around it then turned it back on with nothing pluged into it this morning i made pot of coffee in a different outlet on same line and later when i came back the power was out in the outlet I went to basement reset breaker went upstairs fliped the light switch and saw the outlet spark...turned breaker off, what is my next step to fix this?

You probably nicked the wire when you cut the drywall

Which outlet?
Which outlet?

The circuit wires daisy chain from one receptacle/switch box to the next. There was probably a loose connection in the box where you saw the spark.
