Outlet coming from hvac unit on top of roof...
 

I was up on roof today where the 17 year old AC unit sits atop and noticed a 110 outlet coming off it and connected to the siding. Haven't tested it to see if it works yet.

Any know why this outlet would be here? Is it code? And if it works should I use it? Because I really could use it to power a fountain and some outdoor lighting...

Its required by code.

It should be fine to use for whatever you want. A fountain on the roof???
