I did listen to Jim. I do not plan to use the GFCI circuit/power for the outlet.
The power circuit/line I plan to use currently powers the light switch in the bath, as well as outlets in other rooms. The bath light is currently the first use of that line; and I plan to add the outlet in front of the bath light switch.
Are we talking about the same thing? or am I confusing the issue?
I can't tell for sure what you have going on. Your earlier posts, and the title of this thread, definitely make it sound like you wanted to put the new receptacle on the same circuit as the bathroom receptacles. Now is sounds like you have two circuits feeding the bathrooms, with the lights on one circuit and the receptacles on another circuit. If that's the case, then you can put the new receptacle on the breaker that feeds the lights. But obviously you can't put it on the same breaker as the bathroom receptacles, because that's the problem I and others have been talking about.
I am a lawyer, but not your lawyer. And who cares anyways? We're here to talk construction. This is DIY advice, not legal advice.
