Outdoor Receptacle Box Question

The previous owner installed an outdoor receptacle through the siding into an old work box. I've already ripped out all of his other electrical work, so I suspect this also needs fixed. It is not GFCI protected now, but it WILL be when I finish rewiring the garage. (Right now it's disconnected.) A few questions:

(1) It only has a flip cover. As I understand things, it should have an in-use cover instead. Correct? (NEC 2008 in my jurisdiction.)

(2) Do I also need to replace the box with some sort of outdoor rated box?

(3) If so, can someone recommend an alternative to a Bell box? I'm looking for something subtle since it is the front of the house. I put a Bell box on the back and it is bulky with the cover on!

Thanks,
Robert

Outdoor Receptacle Box Question

Yes, some sort of weatherproof in use cover would be required.

I like these better than the bubble covers. http://www.arlcatalog.com/Weatherpro...nstruction.htm

The box only needs to be WP if it is exposed.
