Outdoor outlet with hardi siding

I see that Hardie recommends using Sturdi Build mounting blocks, does anyone know the best way to attached the outlet box, should it be recessed into the sheathing so the face of the box is flush with the face of the block, or do they recommend mounting the box against the sheathing and have it extend out a bit from the face of the block?

I don't know about the Hardiblocks, but the electrical box can be recessed no more than 1/4" in a non-combustible surface.
