Question

Ontario CE code for kitchen counter outlet height?

Greets everyone. I've searched the site and did not see any clear answer to my questions, so here goes.

I'm installing a new kitchen counter top and would like to relocate existing wall outlets as low as possible for esthetic purposes to hide the appliance wire clutter from the current middle of the wall between counter and upper cabinet. I am starting with fresh drywall on the back-splash wall, so now is the time. Horizontally just above the backsplash would be perfect!

I also want to install a switched outlet under the upper cupboard which will run low voltage under cabinet lights. Can I tap power from the range hood light for this dedicated purpose?

Best regards....

I don't think there is anything in the code regarding the height of the receptacles above a counter.

Thanks. I stumbled on a shortened version of the codebook at Home Depot and what I hope for doesn't seem to be an issue.

When you say range hood light do you mean a simple range hood or is it a over the range microwave combo. If it is an OTR you can not sure the circuit, if it is a regular range hood then you can share.
