Is it ok to vent an electric dryer through a wall?

I will be building a new 2 x 6 wall and I want to run the dryer vent to the outside down the length of the wall, approximately 10'. Acknowledging vent length limitations including restrictions (45 and 90 degree turns), the requirement of 4" galvanized pipe, avoiding screws (is aluminum tape ok?), the need to clean the vent every 3 or 4 years, and other obvioius requirements, would this vent meet code requirements?

It's done all the time. Do you mean aluminum vent?

If you'll be drying loads for an average family of 4, you should probably run the lint out every year, esp. since your duct will have some turns in it. You may have condensation forming in it particularly toward the end where it is cooler, so it would be good to position the run so that any condensation will drip out rather than pooling inside the duct.

Avoid using the fabric softener sheets. That stuff makes hard to remove lint residue in the ducts and at the cap.

Check to see if double-walled ducting is required for sections in the wall.
