non-CTL tandems

I have some non-CTL tandem breakers (the kind without the rejection tab). Can I use them in the notched spaces designated for tandems?

The point of the rejection feature is so that no one will overload a panel, so if they're used only in the notched spots intended for tandems, they shouldn't pose a problem right?

Non CTL tandems in a CTL panel is a code violation.

Re: non-CTL tandems

Well, maybe I can get something for them on eBay. They were actually in place during the inspection of our original service with a 40-40 panel. Now that I have upgraded the service to 320, I have plenty of room in the second panel.
