non contact voltage testers. 24vac-240vac??
I would like to get a non contact tester. i have tried 2 Craftsman pieces that both sucked. basically if you get within 4-5" of an outlet, it will go off and not repeatable. i would really like something that can go down to 24vac but more importantly, I would like something that I could change the sensitivity so I can determine the polarity of a socket as well as track 120-277 wiring in a wall. I know I have used a Fluke before that you actually had to insert the blade in the socket to find voltage which was really nice but I would say they also could not find voltage in the wall though.
Can someone recommend a tester? The Craftsman I bought had a 24v button on it but they are just WAY too sensitive to do much of anything... |

you also may want to wait for the new klein dual voltage tester. These are the only two i know of that can go this low. |
