Common complaint from garage guys...

Are they new lights?

If Lithonia....give customer service a call....word has it that they actually do care.

Otherwise....just make sure the ballast and metal enclosure is properly grounded.

they are new lights. The ground was the first thing I checked because it is a metal building. I checked the antena on the radio to make sure it was tight. Doesn't seem as bad but noise still there. Thought radio shak might have something but the store here is slack.

Radio stations come in much more weakly (if at all) in a metal building. The radio circuitry self adjusts to some extent to better pick up weak stations but in so doing the interference from the fluorescent light is accentuated.

Your radio signal must be weak,
So signal to noise ratio is bad,
You probably did not notice it before,
Try using an outside antenna.
This will improve the sig/noise ratio.
