New Subpanel feeder sizing

k_buz found another reason for not putting the subpanel in that room. I can't get the code required clearances around the panel.

If running conduit, is there a good argument or code for pvc versus emt? What about the wire inside, stranded vs solid. I recall having a heck of a time pulling solid wires through a pvc conduit on another project I did a few years ago, but can't recall why I decided to use solid instead of stranded.

Still looking for confirmation that I need TR receptacles pretty much everywhere now per the 2009 IRC.
