New LED downlights don't dim enough..Dimmer switch options?

I just installed new 3" diameter LED downlights in my living room renovation. Ceilings are at 7'-11, and I spaced them at 42" apart. Each lamp supposedly equals approx a 40 W incandescant PAR lamp, but the light is very bright white light. I wired them to a dimmer switch but I thought the switch would take them from almost off to fully on. Instead, the lowest dim setting is about 50% of brightness. Can anybody point me to a better switch option which might provide more range of dimming? The LED's are Lithonia LK3 and the switches are the LED dimming kind sold at Home Depot. Thanks in advance for all replies.

Did you use the right dimmer? The dimmer for an incandescent is different than for LED's.

If your getting some flickering.....then you do have the wrong dimmer.

FYI....HD and Lowes typically only carry the common stuff.....chances are the dimmers they have on the shelf are for incandescent.

I did use the Lutron LED dimmer switch, and the fixtures say they are dimmable on the package.

After a little more reading, I see there is a dimming range adjustment on the switch itself. I will try that and hope that solves my issue.
