Hello,

I'm redoing my den and wanted to get better lighting so I removed the single light fixture that was in the room and installed recessed lighting. I was hoping to be able to use Ecosmart dimmable R20 bulbs which only draw 11 watts but after trying one I wasn't happy with the look. They are much longer than a standard R20 bulb and even after pushing the receptacle in the can all the way up they still stick out a little more than I would like them to. They are also very slow to come to full brightness.

Instead I am going with the Philips Halogena R20 bulbs which draws 45 watts but are the equivalent of a 75 watt bulb. This raised a concern about increasing the load on the circuit where the original light was connected to, which is shared with other rooms. Since there is a second line that comes into the den to power a couple of outlets I decided to power the lights by tapping into the box for one of those outlets using the setup detailed below. Can someone please give me some feedback on this and let me know if you see any issues. Thank you!
