New ceiling light

I just put in a new ceiling light with 3 wires black white and ground that was wasy to install. When I hit the switch did not work. I replaced the switch also replaced the fan switch also. The fan switch had the 3 wire init then they just cut a piece of electrical wire to the light switch which had 2 different wires going into it which equals 2 black 2 white and 2 ground now the light won't turn off and the fan won't work. I put everything back the same way as i took it apart. I am a novice

Obviously you did not. Post some pictures of both boxes.

New ceiling light

If you tell us how you wired this new light then maybe we can tell you where you went wrong. The switch that did not work, did it not turn on the light or not turn off the light?

New ceiling light

i installed the lite black/black white /white and ground /ground the switch did not turn the light on or off as soon as i turned power back on the lite was lit but didn't shut off.... I did go over the wiring again i noticed that i only hooked up the ground from one switch to the other did not put the black or white back in.That is prob what went wongthese are the snap in type boxes where you put the wires in the box itself not the screws

What other wires were in the fixture box? Did you make any changes in the switch box? What wires are in the switch box?
