new bathroom vent trips GFI when switch is turned off.
Recently replaced a cheap, loud bathroom vent with a nice quite (.8 sone) model. Like the replaced one it is on the downward leg of a wall GFI. Never had a problem with the GFI tripping until I replaced the vent. Now, about every third or fourth time the switch to the vent is turned OFF, the GFI trips. Wiring is fine, it's a new 20 amp circuit I put in a year ago. Terminations are well insulated. Could it be something with the new motor? It's just a vent, no light but the bathroom wall lights are also on the same GFI.
