new 15 amp breaker sparking

i am trying to wire (6) 85 watt recessed lights...i have used 14 gauge wire...i dedicated a line to the breaker...did all the proper wiring...i.e. white/ground to the neutral bus bar...snapped in the new breaker to an available bus...turn it on...and a spark occurs where the wire meets the newly installed breaker...

any suggestions?

new 15 amp breaker sparking

is it a subpanel....if so you can't have you neutral and ground on the same bar. Most likely it's a lose connection at the breaker. Or you've got a short somewhere on the line. Does the breaker trip?

it is a newly installed panel (3 years ago) attached to the existing 20 year old one...it appears as both white and bare (ground) are attaching to the bus...i just did the same w the new one...

Did you strip the insulation from the end of the conductor before connecting it to the breaker?
