Net Metering


Check with your local utility about net metering. This is also a state law thing, but this would have to do with the utility.

Basically you install solar electric panels, then use a "grid tie" inverter which synchronizes your electricity to the utility power and sends this power out on your line if you are generating more power than using.

Your utility may provide a meter which runs backwards or a meter which shows both directions.

Hello,

The way that I would like to run the generate is off of veg oil. I have someone that an help me with that process.

Keep in mind that the fuel you use to go and get the veg oil will offset any savings you experience with this set up.

It's called money transfer. You transfer the money from your heating costs to your transportation costs.

Unless you are getting a 1000 gallons at a time it is not worth the trip.
