Need opinions on fixing an outlet problem
I was recently asked what to do at a home where an electrical inspection had failed due to having grounded outlets and no grounds. (the guy had one of those lighted testers) Basically the outlets were two wire and were replaced with grounded outlets. While I'm sure this happens a lot, it isn't right. My understanding is to use the 2 wire outlets or a gfi outlet when replacing these and all is ok again, BUT since they are all on the same circuit, could you simply change out the breaker to a gfi breaker and call it good? (only one room was done this way) My gut feeling is no but since the gfi's are allowable by code I thought boy this would be a quick fix. Your thoughts appreciated very much!
