Need help wiring A/C....

I need help on hooking up my 220 volt air handler with heat strip. The A/C guys came and installed it, but I want to wire it. I'm a little confused with it though and the reason is that there are two is yellow, the other is black that aren't hooked to anything just hanging there.

I can see where the 220 wires go, but not sure what to do with these other two. I took some pictures and hope that they are good enough for you guys. Let me know if you need better pictures.

Also, I understand that I have to have a disconnect near this air handler. So I bought one at Lowe's. However, the front of the panel on the air handler has two slots that are just like the rectangle slots on a circuit breaker panel. Do I just knock one out and run the wires through that??

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

What does the wiring diagram say? You may just want to call someone.

The unit should have a round knock out in one of the sides. Do not run the wiring thru the acces panel. You may have to drill a hole for the wiring.

I can't see where the yelow/black go to. I am thinking they go to the blower. Post a pic of the wiring diagram that is probably on the access panel.

If the two plugs were plugged together, it looks a lot like the yellow and black would be a constant hot 240 volts. Very likely some sort of accessory that may or may not be installed in your unit.

If it were me, I'd first look at the wiring diagram, and if I couldn't find anything, I'd hook the unit up to power leaving the plug unplugged (like it is now), and see if it works. If so, then nothing hooks up to these wires. If not, you'll need to look a bit deeper.

Sometimes things like this have instructions for the customer and have separate "Installation Instructions". I would read the installation instructions and look at the wiring diagram.
