Need Help with a Failed Close Circuit

I have a need for an alarm when the house power fails. I bought a sump pump alarm. The float switch is open when the water is low and closes when the water is high. So I need a simple circuit that stays open when house power is on and closes when house power is off. This way I can hook up the sump high water alarm to the circuit and when house power fails it will alarm. Can any one help with a schematic of such a circuit?

Couldn't do it with one relay.

A is a battery operated alarm.
The 120v relay coil across the water level switch needs to have an impedance much higher than the motor impedance when stalled. 100 ohms or more should do it.
Hosfelt probably has all you need.

What voltage do you need for the alarm?

What alarm did you buy?

Please include model number, and what type of signaling device you plan to use e.g. Warning light, horn, telephone dialer etc
.
