You stated "no lights" so what are the switches controlling? The GFI receptacle?

Not enough info.
1.What are the switch powering. Are teh switches on the LINE or LOAD sie of the GFCI?
2. What are the switches powering? What switch is the controlled device connected to? It can be at any switch. Where is power? It can also be at any switch.

Yes.

If you understand each symbol the only thing left is, Where does the current flow?
Current is what does things, voltage just makes it take the path of least resistance.

3-ways and 4-ways have many combinations as to where the current flows so you need a way to reduce the problem to something manageable.
I don't know if this can be taught.

First you ought to figure out the difference between a schematic and a wiring diagram.
One schematic (an abstract representation) can be implemented many different ways (wiring diagrams and wirelists are literal).

So, what you're saying is that you want people on the forum to do your homework for you? I guess two points for honesty. Minus two for hubris.

google.com has an images search. Click on this at the top at google.

Then you can search for what you are looking for, and include either of the following...

wiring diagram
schematic

Example...

GFI wiring diagram
4 way switch wiring diagram
-or-
four way switch wiring diagram

The explanations may run a half page each.
