Need help with 4 way switch

I have two 3 way and one 4 way switch. I have simply replaced the old ones with new decorative ones and now they stopped working properly.
3 way switch works only if 4 way switch is turned on.
What could i have done wrong?

Somewhere you have transposed a wire. On the 3w one screw should be an odd color. You also need to pay attention to the pairing on the 4w switch. Sometimes it is top/bottom, others are left/right.

You can see if the 3w's work properly by removing the 4w and wire nutting the cable thru the 4w box.

Need help with 4 way switch

thanks Jim.
I know the problem is with 4 way. Since everything worked fine when I replaced 3 way switch. One wk later, I replaced the 4 way switch and this problem started.

Try to see how you have the travellers from each cable paired. Switch to another combination, but keep the pairs together.

Need help with 4 way switch

Some 4 way switch switch top to bottom, and some side to side.
Look at the diagram for the switch you installed and pair the wires to the diagram.
