Did you change out the outlets? As every one has said you have a dead short if you take the five rec out and look at how they are conected Brass screw black wires-Silver screw white wires then you have your green ground .Like the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDhYD...eature=related Or do you know where the first rec is after leaving the breaker? You could take out the five outlets Put wirenuts on each wire Then turn on the breaker and see if that clears the problem if it does then turn breaker back off and put the closest rec back together and so on
Jag, this a good starting point, have you tried it yet? If the breaker trips with no connected load, the s0b hack electrican cut the wire somewhere else. If it trips, do not try resetting it twice! Report back with results. We can help you fix this, but you need to make sure this goes against his license.
Hey I just wanted to thank everyone for brainstorming and coming up with some great information.
I went back as you guys said to trouble shoot and it turns out the guy that did the wire cutting and stuffing put a staple in to hold the wire where it was to hide it and the staple he put in tore through the old wiring, so I replaced the wire and tested and and everything is working great.
