hi everyone, have a new range which is too deep to allow opening drawers. want to move the 220 outlet from directly behind range at floor. have space below counter and want to move box and conduit there to utilize same material. working with 1/2 drywall over 3/4 furring strips on masonry. any codes or safety tips?
safety tip #1: make sure the power is turned off and verify it.
are you planning on a surface mounted junction box or trying to recess the box? With the materials you have a flush mount isn't possible as the shallowest standart box is 1 1/2" which is to deep to fit in the rock and on the CMU. You could cut a recess in the CMU if you wanted flush mount. I would strongly recommend a 2 1/8" deep box and likely a 4 11/16" swuare due to the size of the conductors will likely require it.
