Motion sensor light switch?

I purchased some motion sensor light switches since my toddler (and soon my 5 month old) turns on lights but never turns them off. So problem solved. My question is, they have a setting on them that I'm guessing senses the ambient light in the room, but the instructions for the switch don't get into any detail except one side of the adjustment is "light" and the other side is "30 lux"....so what does this mean? I don't want them coming on when you walk in and it's high noon with plenty of light from the windows coming in. There is an on/auto/off switch, but I don't want to have to mess with that too much unless it's bed time and then I will turn them off then back to auto in the morning. Thanks

Chris

Motion sensor light switch?

You have to test them for adjustment. At high noon (or whenever you have enough light in the room), turn the adjuster so the lights do not come on.

If you can, block off the windows so it is dark, and make sure the lights come on. If not, turn the adjuster the other way.

It is trial and error method, you will just have to keep turning the switch from OFF to AUTO to test for the correct setting.
