Motion Detector For Compact Florescent Bulbs

The light over my garage door was hooked up to a motion detector which screwed into the socket first, before the incandescent bulb. Then I installed a new fixture which uses only a compact florescent bulb. It will not operate with the motion detector any longer. I understand that the problem is somehow related to the lag-time in using those bulbs.
Is there a way to hook up a motion detector to this new fixture? Or is there a different type of motion detector that works with florescents?

You need a motion that works with a florescent.
