Most reliable way to test gfci circuit

As the others have said the non-contact detector is not the correct tool to use. They are also prone to false positive indication from nearby power.

The rule regarding GFI protection in commercial breakrooms has changed recently also.

Answers based on the National Electrical Code. Local amendments may apply. Check with your local building officials.
