Moisture Sensor Switch

We're having a bathroom put in the basement. It's small - about 8' x 7' or so.

I'm worried about mold growing in that room, so I bought a ventilation fan for the ceiling (140cfm). But on the shelf at the hardware store they have a gadget called a moisture sensor switch. If I understand it right, it's supposed to turn the fan on automatically when the humidity level gets too high.

My question is, does anyone have experience with a moisture sensor switch and is it worth buying one?

My basement gets pretty humid in the summer, and all I do is leave the basement bathroom fan on, that does a fine job of keeping the humidity in check. Cheaper than running a dehumidifier all the time. I wouldn't worry about leaving it running continuously.
