Modification to three way switching

I am trying to separate two lights that are controlled by two three way switches. The power comes into the first switch and the runners go to second switch and the hot line goes to the J box at the first light. The lights are both wired together in the J box.

So the second switch only has the runners feeding it from the first switch. I need to be able to get power to the second light from the first switch. I can't get in above and run wire or pull wire through as the existing wires are stapled. There is no access to the wiring without cutting drywall (and it is textured so not an easy task to repair.

Or is there another way to run the second light? I can't pull wire through as the current wires are stapled between the switch box and J box.

You can do it by running another 2 conductor cable from one light box to the switch box that will control it (either light), leaving all the existing wires unchanged and the existing wires can be re-configured to control the other light.

Draw us a diagram of how the existing wires go, so we can give you more hints.

States can help recovery from hurricanes and tornadoes by not requiring due digence or prompt and timely correction of substandard conditions, and by providing continued liability insurance where companies drop homeowners.

Do you want one of the switches to control one of the lights, and the other switch to control the other light? No longer having a 3-way configuration?

Not possible without adding some wires, according to the way you have described your setup.
