i live in a fairly new apartment in dublin, never had any problems with lights wireing or anything before,

just got six spots/downlights with the transformer bits and a dimmer switch put in, they work fine when on full power but they flicker up and down when they are dimmed???

i watched how they were put in and it all looked very easy!!

there used to be one light in the middle of the room, witch the guy took out and used this as the power for all the lights.
he drilled a few holes, feed the wire through, connected it to the tranformer then to the spot. (done this for all of them)
he then put a dimmer were the switch used to be. (simple i thought)
turned them on, wizzed then up and down a few times and left on full power. job done

how can i stop them flickering when dimmed as this is causeing me some consern!!:(

Thank you for any help you can give

what type bulbs? what kind of dimmer? did dimmer come with lights or afterthought? flickering like you describe may be lack of proper voltage needed to ignite gas in bulb, the dimmer may be low quality and have loose contacts at the bottom end of the range, etc.,
