MLC-4X Lighting Controller Wiring

I have look at the first link as soon I did see the photo of the receptale that is the first thing it will fail to pass the installment due the combation conferation which it is too easy to get confused if that is a strictally 120 or 240 volt receptale so therefore I can not really be assit you on that one for safety issue.

And the conferation of the set up which I am not too keen with this and I am allready supecting and thinking a red flag is comming up due a short conductor from the contractor to the receptale is too small for this purpose ( I know 4 KW @ 240 volts will result 16.6 amps and this is on 30 amp circuit that is a no go set up at all )

I will not touch this one either at all.

Merci,
Marc

I think the two major concerns with this unit are the combo outlets and the fact that they are connected to a 30 amp circuit with no secondary overload protection for the connected load. I think if the outlets were strictly 240 volt outlets (not these combo outlets) AND there were 15 amp breakers on the unit past the relay for each outlet, this would probably be fine. Do the same for a separate 120 volt model or provide a change over kit to re-wire it properly for 120 volt operation.

I think k_buz was talking about the legality of growing pot, which is obviously the intended purpose of this controller. And I'm in agreement that it doesnt sound well designed at all, to the point of being potentially unsafe. Don't think I'd use it in my grow room if I had one.

I knew k_buz was, but for some strange reason my brain thought that Soowhat was responding to the house burning down part of the comment. Please give me a moment to extract my foot from my mouth.

Haha fair enough. And just for the record, your point was correct anyway; a non UL listed item should not be used.
