mixed up wiring

I was asked by a friend to install two light fixtures in his house and did not say much of anything thing else. When I showed up every thing seemed to be normal. As doing the procedure of cutting power nothing was marked.
And the search began, found the right breaker and undid the first light. found out the light box has three runs of wire 2-14/2's and one 14/3 and the problem is the connecvtion is only a single switch and so I think.
the second light I also found out is the same thing.
I need some help.

Why do you need help? Just hook the new lights up to the wires you removed from the existing fixture.

Best I can tell you is to map out the wires and see if you can make it work to how your buddy would like it to work.

You need to map where the cables go. We can't do much to help without the cable info.
