Mix fluorescent and incandescent?

I'm in the process of organizing my three car garage. It currently has two incandescent bare bulbs in each bay, six total, all controlled by one wall switch.

I have a workbench along one of the bays where I could use some additional lighting for these tired eyes. I don't really want to go totally fluorescent at this point. Can I replace two of the existing incandescent bulb/fixtures with two new 4'-0", 2-bulb fluorescent fixtures - same circuit?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks so much for your very insightful response. And pardon my ignorance on all things electrical, but I thought purpose of this forum would be to help those not in the know.

emolator, if ever have any questions on self performed open heart surgery, please don't hesitate to ask.

Mix fluorescent and incandescent?

The question was easy enough that the single word answer is true, correct, and complete.

Had there been any complications or caveats they would have been added to this discussion.

Clothing and cosmetics stores have often used a combination of incandescent and fluorescent lighting. The fluorescent gives better energy efficiency while the incandescent gives a more pleasing look to human flesh.
