I am trying to figure out how high to instal the outlet box for my microwave range before I put up the drywall in the kitchen.

In my last three houses, the microwave receptacle was in the cabinet above the microwave. Have you laid out your cabinet height for this area?

Middle of the cabinet over the microwave, you will have to cut out the back of the cabinet to install the receptacle properly and drill a hole from the microwave up into the bottom of the cabinet. See microwave instructions.

Middle? Best on the right side as the exhaust vent runs through the middle.
Plus the cord is on the right.

Frequently the electrician will leave a whip for that---and use a remodeling box--or a surface mounted box----that's easier for the cabinet installation.

Correction, Middle meaning vertical middle and yes to the right side. Also the final remark from my previous post. See Microwave Instructions.

WHat type is it? If it mounts over the range, put the receptacle in the cabinet above the M/W. If it is a countertop unit with a trim kit, check where the vent is and keep it away from it. It does not have to be GFI protected either.
